Install Fest, EGLUG gets a 10, Linux-Egypt gets a ZERO!

Body

Late as usual, I'm jobless these days and I don't feel like doing anything useful.

On the 9th of September. we had to meet to finish all of the remaining issues.
Diaa passed by me, Oh diaa 120-130 Kph on the ring rode and you don't have a license! damn you.

In the culture wheel I discovered that I forgot my wireless antenna, Manal was supposed to go get the pamphlets at 1 am or so.
Me, Manal and Sherbeeni went with A. Desokey's car.
But in the middle of the trip the car decided to give us a bad time, Manal and sherbeeny took a taxi to catch the shop before they close.
The car is back on line! We went there, Found alaa and diaa, Diaa took her with his car and me, Alaa and sherbeeny went with Desokey's car to Maadi.
I went up stairs, Got the antenna "we needed the antenna because the culture wheel can't give us a net connection in the river hall, So I'll be using my home server to catch the wireless signal and then power the wired network" and the car did it again.
Had to go up again to borrow my sister's car and that was it.
Back to the culture wheel and preparing the remaining things.
I felt tired so I slept. I didn't know that I can sleep on some chair but it happened.
After 2-3 hours of sleep "I woke up multiple times in the middle, One of them because 3ezabi took my GSM phone from my hand, And don't ask me why did I sleep while holding it". I was finally up but everything was spinning, Things started to settle after a cup of coffee and a cigarette.

I won't talk about the fest itself, I'll talk about my opinion regarding the fest.
Last year we had from 2500 to 3000 person, This year We had about 120-130.
I was afraid I might be disappointed "And if you know me you'll understand that me being disappointed is a very bad thing". but it was fine, I was able to give people and talk to them much more, I guess I gave each one what he wanted. Sure I was tired and I was sitting beside our front desk at the end but I go see what's happening inside and go back to sit.
During one of those small "trips" I found kareem sabry giving a demo about the installation, I was proud of him because he's a new user. I started to talk to people about the philosophy of Free Software, A bit about the history among other small things I can't remember.

I can say that it's a success even if we didn't get many people because each one of the attendees got answers to his questions IMHO, I'm proud and happy.

Now let's talk about the lessons

* Usually people work from 9 to 5, We shouldn't have decided to finish at 5 even if Sat. is a weekend for us, You never know because other people might not have it as a weekend.
* Advocacy, t was bad.
* We started to arrange ourselves late.
* Most of the team doing the arrangements had their jobs and no one was giving 100% of his time, I wanted to do this and thought I'll quit my job on the 1st of September. But this didn't happen.
* Next fest, The pamphlets should be ready _BEFORE_ we talk to the culture wheel.
* What else did I forget ??

After the fest, I went home with Desoky and sherbeeny to return the car and fix his car, I was supposed to meet Diaa after that to go out but seems that he slept, I mt M. Hazem "CVirus", Cappuccino among other things I can't remember in roastery Zamalek "beside the culture whel ;-)"
Went home and slept at 1 am and that's it.

Photos later!
